General information

In 2010 the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and MATIMOP, the official National Agency for industrial R&D cooperation in Israel initiated cooperation aiming at supporting Polish and Israeli entities in joint industrial research and development projects.
The first call for joint R&D projects was announced in 2010. Then NCBR and MATIMOP launched successive joint calls in 2011 and 2012 and selected for funding 6 bilateral projects in total. Applicants were expected to develop ready to market solutions or projects in technological and application areas which have had strong market potential for Poland, Israel and Europe.
The calls were managed in line with the EUREKA Initiative procedures. NCBR and MATIMOP facilitated EUREKA application process and acquisition of the EUREKA label for accepted proposals.

At the beginning of February 2016, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and Israel on cooperation in the field of industrial research and development entered into force. From this moment the calls could be organized according to the rules of the agencies, not as previously – according to the principles compatible with the EUREKA Initiative.
All projects within the framework of Polish-Israeli cooperation gain the label of EUREKA projects.
