General information

In view of the increasing importance of international cooperation in research, development and innovation, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Fonds National de la Recherche/National Research Fund (FNR) aim to facilitate the collaboration between Polish and Luxembourgish researchers.

On 8 November 2011 both institutions signed a five-year collaboration agreement for funding common projects in the domain of "Innovation in Services". The chief role of this research sector is to provide valuable knowledge and guidance in relation to the aspects that are important for both country’s economy, society and environment. The research priorities covered by the innovation in services field are:

  • Information Security and Trust Management
  • Business Service Design
  • Development and Performance of the Financial Systems
  • High-performance Telecommunication Networks and Multimedia.

In the January 2017, another agreement was concluded between NCBR and FNR that would provide cooperation for the next 5 years with the possibility of extension. The thematic area as in the previous agreement concerns the subject of Innovation in sevices. NCBR and FNR will evaluate the potential of future joint calls, possibly extending to other research fields.
