Programme “Applied research”
Programme “Applied research” is implemented under the EEA and Norway Grants. The aim of the programm is to enhance performance of Polish applied research in Poland through improved research cooperation between Poland and Norway, based on equal partnerships between Norwegian and Polish research institutions and enterprises. The Programme will prioritize funding for research and development in the following areas:
- welfare, health and care,
- digital and industry,
- energy, transport and climate,
- food and natural resources,
- social and economic development,
- unmanned vehicles,
- CCS - carbon capture and storage,
- cities for the future: services and solutions.
The total Programme budget is 77,65 mil €, out of which 73,16 mil € is for research projects selected on the basis of calls for proposals. The latter sum includes 6,65 mil € for innovative projects, selected through a unique IdeaLab process and 11,76 mil € for research projects in the Carbon Capture and Storage thematic area. Additionally, 5 mil € is allocated to the small grant scheme dedicated to female researchers in applied technical sciences. The Programme will also include measures to support career development of young researchers.
The main criterion of evaluation for all areas under the Programme will be the research excellence of the project and innovation-driven approach.
The other goal of the Programme is to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Poland and Norway, which will be supported through a dedicated Fund for Bilateral Relations.
