Głównym celem programu Era-Net Chist-Era II (European Coordinated Research on Long term Challenges in Information and Communication Sciences & Technologies ERA Net) jest wzmocnienie międzynarodowej współpracy między państwami członkowskimi w interdyscyplinarnych badaniach w obszarze ICT potencjalnie prowadzących do znaczących przełomów w nauce.
